(I hope I'm doing this right, I read the rules so if I get something wrong feel free to fwap me. ^_^) Akashi had been lingering at home when a strange messenger arrived. Within his paws, there was a note that said simply. "Please meet me at the Caverns, your's truly, Secret admirer." She had questioned the delivery boy about who had dropped it off and he said it had arrived in their drop box during after hours. Both curious and slightly hesitant, she called for her servant who oiled her down and polished her up. After all, she figured, she could always leave if the male was hidious or a jerk, right? Plus, her interest had been captures. With that being decided, she headed off towards the sacred caverns, wondering just who it might be that had the audacity to send her such a note.

He had watched her, this Lady at the ball with her rosy hue and shiny blue gems, and he had felt an interest seldom noticed since his abandonment. He had his man-servant bribe her maid to find out which parties, which balls and opera's she would be attending and at each social function he had lingered in the background, watching. Rage boiled within, carefully hidden by a smooth carefree appearance and he knew that soon, so soon his revenge would be within his grasp. The care mark upon his face burned, throbbed with resentment at what his shame was forcing him to do. He was going to ruin her. He carefully set the stage, placing lit candles in strategic places to illuminate and enhance the glow of the colorful crystals. his skin was smooth, his gems polished to a high ebony shine. A single red rose was held with care between his front fangs, his eyes void of any emotion as he stared at the entrance, waiting.

Well, he was handsome, she’d give him that. Akashi walked into the cavern systems hesitantly only to find the scene ripe for romance. Very interesting. Looking at the male with a rose between his teeth, something in her mind tugged at her, something that said he was familiar, that he wasn’t what he appeared. Gracefully, she stepped closer before stopping, her head tilting slightly. ”Pardon me Sir, but have we met before?” The rose was a lovely touch, yet the emotionless void gaze of his eyes caused a shiver down her spine. She was not supposed to be alone with suitors, without a chaperone, and it was bold of him to suggest they meet like this. No gentleman would have done so. No Lady would have accepted, which was why she had sworn her maid to secrecy.

He hadn’t expected her to come, much less alone and while part of him that still cared cursed her for making this too easy, the rest of him rejoiced. Walking closer, he allowed friendliness to linger within his gaze as he moved to brush the rose petals ever so softly against her cheek before bowing into a low bow and placing it at her paws. ”Not formally, no. I’m Duke Auberon of Belshire.” He waited with bated breath, that stupid guilty part of himself wanting her to recognize the name and run for it. His muscles tensed, readying himself to go chasing after her should she take it in her mind to run. Now was not the time for a scene.

As the male set down the rose Akashi picked it up and tucked it behind her ear. The movement was followed by a gasp as he introduced himself, and she took two rapid steps back. "But you're! Duke sir, I must insist on knowing the reason why you asked me here." Her pretty blue eyes had narrowed to slits for his name... it was not something her family welcomed. In fact, she was raised on storys of how his family had almost brought her own to ruin by planting illegal gems onto one of their trading ships. The feud went back two generations of trinkets, and she had to wonder if she stepped outside would she see all the gossip columns waiting? She would not let him tarnish her family's name. Not again.

Auberon executed a perfect bow, his gaze so dark it was void of emotions as he gazed at her. ”But of course… I desire an end to the grudge our family’s hold against each other. I would have approached your father but the last time we met he was quite adamant about removing me from his presence.” He knew of Akashi’s father’s death and part of him hoped to twist the pain of loss deeply into those turquoise eyes. The more she felt and the less she thought would be all to the better for his purposes. After all, if she began to weep the gentlemanly thing to do would be to comfort her, right? Thoughts of Tixia and her father formed a hard ball of murderous rage within his gut and it was all he could do to prevent any of his feelings from showing in his eyes. Thankfully Tixia had looked like a mini replica of her mother so that her fathers identity wasn’t obvious.
