Why oh why was she here again? She didn't need more children. Four was quite enough, thank you very much. But noooo, someone insisted that she come here again. She remembered that note the the oh-so pretty and curly handwriting.
Dusksky, it would be nice if you would join in the third cavern from the left in the Sacred Caverns. I will await your arrival.
So now she was here, padding along the same exact path past the Caverns. That was one cave, two, three. Here she was. She pulled open the heavy oak door, and peered expectantly into the room. It was empty of any lifeforms.
Nice 'awaiting my arrival, she thought dryly, and settled on one of the several rugs, staring intently at the door, waiting for whoever was coming.

Amrit had not planned on being late; however, he had to make a compromise because his little daughter had wanted to spend some time with him, despite the fact that he knew he had a meeting to get to. She'd glared at him and said, You always put me to bed when you get home, Daddy. I never get to spend time with you. You're always in the sky, guiding the sun. So, naturally, he'd given in and spent a little time with her.
But now, he was walking to the third cavern from the left. As he walked in, he started to say, "I am so sorry, I was held up. I honestly meant to mee you he--"
Here, he paused as he saw who the Trinket was that Fire had sent the note he'd written to.
"You..."

Dusksky stiffened. Him. The God of the Sun. Why him, of all people? The very one who guided the thing she hated the most. Lips pulled back in a snarl, she quickly distanced herself from the God. There was thing Dusksky knew for sure: this wouldn't be enjoyable in the slightest.
"It is me," Dusksky answered, throwing every bit of hate she had into those three words. No, this wasn't going to end well.

"I am not any more interested in this meeting than you are, just so we are clear on that, Miss Dusksky." Amrit said coldly, shaking his head. "That note, I had intended it to be for someone else... but my human obviously filled in a different name than the one I had wanted."
Here, he sighed. It was taking every bit of his willpower to not lash out at this Trinket, for Nylaí had lectured him long and hard about not overreacting to those who were loyal only to the Gods of the celestial bodies of the night.
"But, it obviously looks like we have no choice as to our being here, now, do we? We might as well make what best of it we can..." Amrit said, begrudgingly.

Dusksky's eyes flashed. She relaxed a bit, but didn't let her snarl go. This was not how she planned her second breeding to go. At all. She snorted. Like they were ever going to get along. She'd be surprised if one of them didn't walk out before this even ended.
She sat down, now on the hard cave floor in the corner farthest from both the door and the God. She'd stay here a lot of the time, she could tell already.
"And who were you going to invite here?" she snarled.
She couldn't contain the curiousity in her voice, though she could tone it down.

"You may throw any foul insult that your mind can conjure for informing you; you are warned of that, for you will think it heinous--but I had been planning to invite the Lunar Goddess." Amrit said in a matter-of-factly tone, sitting down in the opposite corner from Dusksky.
"Like I said, you may call me any foul name and throw any foul insult that you wish at me for this--it won't really matter to me. After all, I already have Lumi and Nalith eternally cursing me."
Oh, if Nylaí were here, she would probably smack him for that comment. Oh well, he was being honest, at least.

Dusksky had no plan to yell at him. Why would she be angry that he had invited another, but ended up with her? She was just annoyed that his trainer had changed the name and sent it to her, instead. He would have a better time with the Lunar Goddess, and she wouldn't be stuck here, in a Sacred Cavern with the one he detested the most.
"And why would I waste my breath doing that?" she answered scornfully. No, this wasn't going well in the slightest.

Well, that certainly wasn't what he had expected. "Considering what had happened at our past meeting, with you reacting the way that you had to me... I don't know, I wasn't exactly left with the, ah... best of impressions."
You know that Nylaí would hang you for saying this. You know how she is; "The gentle approach, Amrit; understand that not all Trinkets love catching the sunlight in their coat like you," she'd say... Amrit told himself, but he shrugged.

Dusksky hesitated. How would she answer this question? She rethought her life while she was trying to calm her anger? Past experiences had changed her? She was a different person now? Shouting wasn't her way anymore? Shouting wasn't going to help them? She preferred a different method to shouting?
She didn't chose anyone of the several ideas that occured to her, and simply glared at him. Oh, how she hated that dark red coat, the Fire Opal gems, the dark red glow, and especially the bright yellow sun crest.

Hm, a glaring match works too... Amrit thought as he situated himself in a slightly more comfortable position, the glow around him clinging to his body. His Fire Opal eyes seemed to glow as he glared back calmly, the Sun Crest on his forehead ever an eternal symbol that he ended the night and melted the snow. Did he care, though? Of course not; he was just doing the duty that Erulissë had charged him with.
Whether other Trinkets liked it or not.

Dusksky let her gaze drop to the floor, and sighed. She wanted to be out of here, either talking to one of her four children, or watching the skies. Not stuck inside a Cavern stuffed with furniture glaring at the Sun God.
Her thoughts turned to her children. Holinarcherus, as Vinerain had named him, was suppose to be very carefree. She wouldn't know herself. She hadn't met him and Spectrum Joy yet. Thiren was gentle and kind, and loved stories of all kinds. Rise was... different. She had... talents others didn't. She and her brother were quite close.
A while ago, they had left and went to wander the world. She wondered where they were now. Probably finding all sorts of adventures, something she would never do.

Amrit's eyes closed, but he did not lower his head any. His thoughts turned to his own daughter--the one that lived with him, anyway. the response he got from everyone about her was the same--She's got your gemstones and her mother's coat--she's gorgeous!--but he barely knew her. Heck, neither he nor Nylaí had even named her yet!
My darling child... I wish I could spend more time with you. Maybe, once you are older, we can spend more time together--you can guide the sun with me, even, he thought quietly.

Dusksky raised her head, and noticed a slight change in him. He seemed to be thinking about something or someone that really mattered to him, in one way or another. Who or what could it be? She let the thought go, and lowered her gaze again It wasn't her buisness. Just because she hated him didn't mean she had no respect whatsoever for him. He was a God, after all, even though it was of the sun.
She raised her head, staring curiously at him. What did it feel like to be a God?

If anything was crossing Amrit's mind as he thought about his daughter, he was wondering what it must be like to be a mortal. Was it any different than being a God? Well, of course it was: when you were a God, you had people--often mortals and sometimes other Gods--who despised you for your element, and there were those that adored you.
"Something tells me that I am not the only one here entering for a second time, although I was sent to the lab the first time..." Amrit muttered quietly.

So he had been here before. Most likely with another God. Gods seem to favor other Gods. Maybe it was because mortals found it awe-inspiring to be in a god/dess's presence? Or maybe the more prideful of the Gods found it demeaning to breed with any under their ruling status? Whatever the case, she thought it seemed more normal for a God to breed with a God than a God to breed with a mortal. That was just her view on things.
"Correct," she said, deciding that she wasn't about to waste her breath on him.
